Dear colleagues,
We are delighted to invite submissions for the Australasian Solution Focused Association (ASFA) Annual Conference 2026, to be held in Tweed Heads, NSW, Australia, from 23-25 of October 2026.
This year’s theme, “Depth, Dignity, and Dialogue in Solution-Focused Practice,” invites us to explore how we can deepen our work, honour the inherent dignity of those we work with, and engage in meaningful, generative conversations across diverse contexts and communities.
We warmly welcome contributions from practitioners, researchers, educators, and students who are engaging with solution-focused practice in creative, thoughtful, and impactful ways.
Presentation Formats
We encourage a wide range of presentation styles and durations (30–90 minutes), including but not limited to:
- Workshops
Interactive sessions that engage participants in experiential learning and practical application. - Paper Presentations
Sharing research, case studies, or conceptual developments. - Poster Presentations
Visual displays of projects, research, or practice insights, with opportunities for informal discussion. - Interviews / Conversations
Dialogical formats that model solution-focused inquiry in action. - PechaKucha / Lightning Talks
Fast-paced, high-energy presentations that keep ideas fresh, focused, and engaging. - Yarning Circles
Respectful, facilitated spaces to engage with First Nations perspectives, stories, and ways of knowing, being, and doing. - Innovative / Alternative Formats
We welcome creative proposals that stretch conventional formats while aligning with the conference theme.
Suggested Topics
Submissions may address (but are not limited to):
- Practising with depth in solution-focused conversations
- Honouring dignity in complex, challenging, or systemic contexts
- Fostering dialogue across differences (culture, discipline, power, perspective)
- Applications in therapy, coaching, education, health, community work, and organisations
- Integrating First Nations wisdom and culturally responsive practices
- Research and evidence in solution-focused approaches
- Reflective practice, supervision, and practitioner development
Submission Guidelines
Please include:
- Title of your presentation
- Preferred format and duration (30, 60, or 90 minutes)
- Abstract (200–300 words)
- Brief bio (100 words)
- A headshot to add to your bio
- Any technical or space requirements
