South Australian Solution-Focused Brief Therapy Community of Practice
In late 2015, a small group of clinicians from public mental health in and around Adelaide formed a community of practice to share knowledge and experience in using SFBT. They joined the Mental Health Professionals Network (www.mhpn.org.au) and agreed to meet 4 times a year.
In August 2016, the group, with permission from the MHPN, agreed to be affiliated with the ASFA.
The group is open to anyone with an interest in SFBT. Attendees now come from a variety of backgrounds including public mental health, private practice, and school counselling.
The group was proud to host the Third Conference Australian and New Zealand Solution-Focused Conference in Adelaide in 2017.
Membership and attendance is free. Meetings are held at various locations every 3 months. Drinks and nibbles are provided. For more information, contact David Hains

Solution Focused Therapy Group — Epping, NSW
The SFBT Epping group meets monthly at the Resilience Centre at 401/51 Rawson Street, Epping NSW 2121 on the third Monday of the month at 8am. Currently the structure of the meetings involves a case presentation and small formulation groups around the case. You may even get breakfast as well. Remote access is possible if you can't get to Epping.
The meeting follows the F.A.R.O. structured supervision format in 4 rounds, allowing participants to generate new ideas for difficult problems. — http://www.ilfaro.be/

Solution Focused Therapy Group — Melbourne, Victoria
The Melbourne SFBT practitioners group started in 2018 after the successful ASFA Conference in Melbourne. They are not currently running meetings in Melbourne, but if you are interested then please contact Ross Langford (Mob: 0403 487 517)
Solution Focused Approaches in Educational Settings
John Penny (ASFA Board member from Sydney) hosts an on-line group for anyone who uses SF approaches in teaching, education, and school counselling. If you are interested, please contact John (via email). Meetings are held via zoom 4 times a year (each term).
Brisbane Solution-Focused Practitioner Network
A CoP started in Brisbane in 2020 but they are not currently running meetings. If you are interested please contact Dion.
Perth/WA Solution-Focused Practitioner Network
A CoP in Perth hosts meetings either in Karrinyup or online. Please contact Steve or Kerry for more details. Even if you can't attend, the group is looking to make contact with other SF devotees in WA, so please drop them an email.
Hawkes Bay (NZ) Solution Focused Practitioners Group
The Hawkes Bay Solution Focused Practitioners Group was formed in 2013 as a forum to develop and strengthen both individual practice, and to promote Solution Focused therapy in Hawkes Bay. One of the primary purposes of the group was to help embed the approach for those new to Solution Focused therapy.

Dunedin (NZ) Solution Focused Practitioners Group
The Dunedin Solution Focused Practitioners Group was formed in 2017. Meetings are held every 6-8 weeks to share examples of solution focused practice. Previous guest speakers have included Michael Durrant and John Henden.
